Veteran Student Roundtable, 11 a.m., West 138
The Veterans & Allies student organization is holding a round table discussion at 11 a.m. Nov. 14 in West 138.
This is one of the events that marks our annual Veterans Awareness Week, which is very important to the veteran community and to veteran students. This round table will provide an important forum for discussing issues that veteran students face and for all students, faculty, and staff to participate in proactive and positive activities for finding solutions to campus community needs.
Each of the speakers will speakers will speak for approximately 5-7 minutes to discuss or explain some of the unique issues facing student veterans today. The audience will then be asked to join the round table discussion to further expand upon issues, learn about resources, or propose solutions to these issues and others.
Faculty, staff, and all students will benefit from this conversation as we learn how to proactively express and address our campus community needs.
Speakers include: Tara Atchley, women veterans; Erick Flieger, the VetCorps Project; and Scott Dawson, past-president of the Veterans student organization. After opening remarks, the audience will be asked to join the dialogue, share resources, and brainstorm solutions to proactively address our campus community’s needs.
