Sewing Camp for Kids, Pasco
CTA’s SPRING BREAK QUILT CAMP, presented by the WSU Franklin County Extension
April 1 through 3
9:00 am – 2:00 pm
Boys and Girls, 10-years and older
3414 Stearman Avenue, Pasco
We will learn to make a tote bag called the Mondo Bag which will be finished in class. The camp is geared to beginning sewers. However, some sewing experience will be helpful. It is required that registrants attend all three sessions. If this is not possible for you, please wait to sign-up another time. There is a $10.00 fee for the class. To register you need to call the Franklin Co. Extension office (509-545-3511). Registration is completed with the payment of the class fee.
We only have space for 10 participants. The participants will need to bring a sewing machine in good working order; or if the participant does not have a sewing machine, one may be provided by the CTA’s (Clothing and Textile Advisors). However, a limited number of sewing machines are available. Each participant will be provided with a kit that includes all the necessary fabric and instructions to complete the Mondo Bag. Participants are encouraged to have an adult attend with them; a family member -- mother, aunt, older sister, or a neighbor, 4-H leader, etc. This is a fast-paced but fun class. Each boy or girl will proudly take home a finished tote bag to use for their next sleep over or family trip. Last year many of our participants entered their items in the Benton-Franklin Fair. We encourage this year’s class members to enter theirs also.
