Tuition Waivers

Border Bill (Oregon Residents)

An application is required. Applications must be submitted to the Student Accounts office in East 254 or call 509-372-7498.

Tuition Waiver Application

State of Washington Classified Employees Tuition Waiver

Full-time permanent employees of a state agency, who have been certified by the agency, are eligible for a fee waiver. You must be admitted to the university and submit an approved tuition waiver request form to Admissions and Registration 15 working days before the beginning of each semester. The waiver is based on availability of space and facilities. Registration as a state employee is available during the first week of classes.

You will be assessed a nonrefundable fee of $5 per semester upon admission to a course, responsible to pay any other fees as appropriate, and will not be eligible for student benefits under this program.

WSU Staff/Faculty Tuition Waiver

A fee waiver option is available to full-time classified staff, faculty, and exempt employees who wish to enroll for up to 6 credits per semester. Employees enrolling for more than the credit limit pay full fees for all credits over the limit. If you meet the qualifications and wish to enroll under this program you must follow regular admission procedures and present a completed Staff/Faculty Registration Authorization Form at the time of enrollment. Tuition exempt employees will be admitted to courses based on availability of space and facilities.

Tuition Waiver Persons Age 60 and Over

A waiver of fees is available for persons age 60 or over who are residents of the state of Washington. Applicants will be asked to sign a statement that courses taken under the fee waiver will not be used toward credentials, salary schedule increases or degrees. No more than 6 credits may be taken each semester under this program. If you register for more than 6 credits you will be charged full tuition for all credits. You will be admitted to class on a space-available basis.

Senior Citizen Tuition waiver

Tuition Waivers for Washington National Guard

Certified active members in the Washington National Guard may be eligible. You will need to apply and be admitted Washington State University. No more than 6 credits may be taken each semester under this tuition waiver and be charged full tuition for all credits. A tuition waiver request form must be received by the WSU Tri-Cities Admissions and Registration Office no later than 15 working days before the beginning of each semester.
