Adult Student Admission Requirements

Admission of Adult Freshmen

Definition: Adult freshmen are defined as applicants who will be 25 years of age or older on or before the first day of classes for the term in which they are applying, and who have earned fewer than 27 semester/40 quarter hours of transfer coursework. (Those with more than 27 semester/40 quarter hours of transferable credit are treated as Transfer Students rather than freshmen).

In accordance with policy set by the Higher Education Coordinating Board, students 25 years of age or older are considered for admission on the basis of alternative criteria.
